What it removes — and what it can't
Removed from every file
Images — EXIF and GPS, XMP, IPTC/Photoshop, embedded C2PA Content Credentials, PNG prompt and workflow chunks, comments and time stamps.
Videos — metadata boxes (XMP, C2PA, QuickTime/iTunes tags, GPS), the compressor name, and encoder identification written inside the streams (SEI, codec configuration, AAC fill elements).
Images are stripped without re-encoding, so pixels are untouched. Videos keep their original codec and quality — streams are copied bit for bit and only identification bytes are zeroed.
What it can't remove
Anything visible in the picture: burned-in text, watermarks, logos.
Invisible pixel-level watermarks such as SynthID, and steganography — deleting metadata does not touch them.
Inaudible watermarks embedded in the audio signal itself.
Labels or content credentials a platform adds after you upload.
